Our ceramic technology: explained simply
Imagine: Tiny ceramic particles in our lubricant
form an invisible protective layer on your metal surfaces.
The result? Your components glide past each other with virtually no friction –
like on a smooth ice rink instead of rough asphalt.
For you, this means:
– Less wear and tear
– Less heat
– Lower fuel consumption
– Longer service life
You will see the difference after just 2 hours of operation.
After 5,000 hours, you will know the ROI.
The challenge
From a simple question to a proven solution: How Bathan rethought lubricant technology
It all began in 2003 with a technical challenge posed by a Swiss industrial customer: ‘Why do our components wear out so quickly, despite regular lubrication?’ This question marked the start of over 20 years of research and development.
⚠️ The challenge
What many operators of high-performance systems know:
- Up to 19,000 kg of lubricant per year
- Bearing replacement every 500 hours
- Unplanned downtime costs €36,000 per year
- Maintenance costs are rising steadily
🔬 Our response
Patented ceramic particle technology
Ceramic particles form a highly durable protective layer on metal surfaces.
Developed in Switzerland.
Proven worldwide.

Our Story
From a simple question to an industrial revolution
It began with a seemingly simple question: Why do pelleting plants worldwide waste so much lubricant? Our founders in Lucerne asked themselves this question in 2003 – and thus began a research journey of over 20 years that is now revolutionizing the pelleting industry. Discover the milestones of our success story:
💡 2003 - The beginnings
The starting signal was given in Lucerne: Why do pelleting plants waste so much lubricant? Our founders started an ambitious research project to develop ceramic lubricants. What began as scientific curiosity would change an entire industry.
🔬 2008 to 2015 - Breakthrough & Development
After years of intensive research, the breakthrough came: Ceramic particles in a hexagonal structure reduced lubricant consumption by over 95%. Imagine: 100 kilograms suddenly became just 5. The first pilot projects exceeded all expectations – the revolution had begun.
🚀 2016 to 2020 - Market launch & growth
The technology has proven itself in reality. Our customers confirmed the savings. Word-of-mouth led to rapid growth – satisfied customers became our best ambassadors. The pelleting world spread the word: This technology works.
🌍 2021 to Today - Market leader & expansion
Today, over 80 pelleting companies trust our technology. With NSF H1 certification, we also conquered the food sector. Continuous innovation keeps us at the top – as a technology leader for sustainable pelleting solutions. But this is only the beginning of our mission.
